About High Bar

Founder Kelsey Laverne launched High Bar Polite Bar Solutions in a effort to address her artistic talents and use her deep knowledge of the cocktail world. She has designed a tabletop bar to fill the gap for those wanting to entertain in style and grace while living in the proverbial urban “shoebox.” Seeing the average size of apartments and condos shrink, she saw an opportunity to use her knowledge of the cocktail to offer several beautiful and practical solutions.

The first High Bar product is a walnut or mahogany bespoke box that opens to create a bar that rests on your dining table, sofa table or side piece. A unique base, for those who have space for a separate piece of furniture, is in the pipeline. For a more low-key look, Kelsey created High Bar Vintage: vintage suitcases are stripped and reupholstered to create a jewel box of bar tools, glasses, and garnishes. Small train cases, High Bar Cuties, provide all the tools of the trade in a more compact, yet no less gorgeous, container. Custom paintings and painted cigar boxes are also available to enhance your bar or be displayed on their own.

Through High Bar, Kelsey has managed to take all her favorite things and weave them together for a unique and rewarding career.

About the Founder

Kelsey is a California native. While raised in the Bay Area, she was lucky enough to have a family getaway home in the Napa Valley town of St. Helena. The beauty and culture of the vineyards and wineries influenced her decision to pursue a degree in Viticulture and Enology from the best program in the country at University of California, Davis.

After moving to San Francisco in 2011, she landed a job at D&M Wine and Liquor in SF. At D&M, Kelsey was able to not only expand her knowledge of wine and Champagne, but also learned vast amounts about every spirit imaginable. She left D&M to try something new—national sales for a fresh herb and produce company. However, it became apparent that she wanted to get back into the liquor industry.
